Golf Swing Tempo Vs Golf Swing Speed

Golf Swing Tempo Vs Golf Swing Speed

Are you told by your golf buddies that you swing too fast?

Do you think Ernie Els' is nice and slow and rhythmic?

The chances are that Ernie's smooth swing is WAY faster than yours. It's not the speed, but the tempo, that separate you from Ernie, because Golf Swing Speed and Golf Swing Tempo are fundamentally different. Quite often, the average golfer may seem to appear extremely fast, because they don't have the correct tempo. They usually have a very deliberate take away and back swing, where they are trying to 'Place' the club head in the correct position. There may even be a deliberate pause at the top. This is then followed by a rush, down towards the ball, trying to gain the momentum that was lost during the previous phase. The chances are that all of the PGA tour players swing faster than you. What separates them, from us, is that they do it with a tempo that is fluid not disjointed. They also swing to an exact tempo ratio.

I've read many articles, allegedly about Golf Swing Tempo, that start to talk about components of the swing. Club plane, take away, ball position, alignment. These are fundamentals and separate parts of the swing. These are the individual parts that you learn, which when combined, give you a complete golf swing.

Golf swing tempo, is the glue that holds all of these constituent parts together. In fact, the more you practice, with the correct swing tempo, the more stable all of those separate, fundamental, components become.

So what is Swing Speed? Well it's simply the amount of time you take to get from the start of your takeaway to the point of impact. But let's say for simplicity sake, that for you, this takes 4 seconds. (And it better not! Otherwise you and I won't be playing together anytime soon!) If you take 2 seconds getting to the top of your back swing and then 2 seconds getting the club head to the ball, you really are not going to generate any club head speed.

Because all PRO's swing at this exact tempo ratio. 3 To 1. Now all you have to do is achieve this tempo using one of the many training aids available. Most of which are audio cue devices. When you do what you will find (As I did), is that you will swing faster than you ever have, but with a tempo and a consistency, that is going to stay solid throughout your next round of golf. Also, when you use one of these aids, your mind tends to focus on waiting for an audio cue, which eliminates those mind games you tend to start playing when you are addressing the ball. You know, the ones that get you all tensed up and anxious, the ones that took away any chance you ever had of a good smooth tempo.

Rory McIlroy wins McCormack Award

McIlroy won the Mark H. McCormack Award for being No. 1 the most weeks during the year in the closest race since the award began in 1998. McIlroy returned to No. 1 with his victory at Firestone and stayed there the final 22 weeks of 2014. He won over Tiger Woods, who was at No. 1 for 19 weeks at the start of the year. Adam Scott was atop the ranking for the 11 weeks in between.

The award doesn't get the attention it once did, perhaps because Woods won the award 13 straight times from its inception. It's not even listed in the "Awards" section of the PGA Tour media guide.

But it was the second closest race in the last three years.

McIlroy and Luke Donald took turns at the top in 2012, and McIlroy wound up being No. 1 for 28 weeks compared with 24 weeks for Donald.

Golf Swing Tips For Accuracy and Distance

Golf Swing Tips For Accuracy and Distance

The first thing to keep in mind when setting up and executing your golf swing is that your stance must feel comfortable. If you feel like you are bending too much at the knees, then you are bending too much at the knees. If it feels as though your back is straining then there is a very good chance that you are standing too far away from the ball.

Your swing is a direct extension of your stance, and if your stance feels awkward or uncomfortable then your swing will also feel awkward and uncomfortable. The key to a smooth swing is a smooth motion and you accomplish that by being absolutely certain that your stance is comfortable. Make sure your shoulders are parallel to the ground, that your hips are square with your shoulders, and that you are holding the club comfortably in front of your hips.

The next thing to look for is where you are putting the ball in your stance. Each club in your bag has a different angle to the club head. That angle is designed to give you the kind of distance you expect from that particular club. You will also notice that the club head on your woods is shaped differently than your irons.

The club head on a wood is designed to deliver more energy on impact than an iron and that accounts for the extra distance you can get from a well struck wood. If the ball is not in the proper place in your stance, then you do not gain any benefit from all of the golf club engineering that was just described. Woods require the ball to be forward in your stance to benefit from the energy these clubs generate at impact.

Middle irons require the ball to be in the middle of your stance so that you can have better control over the accuracy of your shot. Short irons and chipping irons require the ball to be further back in your stance to allow the angle of the club head to better affect the spin of the ball. Put the ball where it needs to be in your stance and you will exercise greater control over the results.

Finally, it is a good idea to remember that a golf swing is a pivot type motion where you are transferring your weight and power from back to front. It is not a lifting or dropping motion, nor is it a shoulder swinging motion.

Your whole body needs to pivot properly for a golf swing to lead to good results, so practice pivoting your body on your hips and properly transferring your weight from back to front to get good results. Do not lift your body, and do not allow your shoulders to dip down.

You can prevent lifting your body by keeping your eye on the ball. Maintaining your focus on the ball during your swing almost insures that your shoulders will stay down on the ball as they are supposed to.

Practice your golf swing and incorporate the principles of weight shift and a smooth pivot to increase distance and accuracy. You should not approach the golf ball as though you need to hit it very hard to get it go where you want it to go.

Golf Tee Box Positioning Course Management

Golf Tee Box Positioning Course Management

There is only one goal when it comes to the desired landing area off the tee box. We all like to land the ball in the middle of the fairway or as close to the pin as possible on the par threes, but sometimes this task seems difficult to accomplish. Playing for the middle of the fairway or green could make the golf hole a little longer than we would like on some golf holes. However, playing and positioning yourself in the right area of the tee box may help you shorten the golf hole and avoid certain hazards on the golf course.

Next time you step on to the tee box, look down the fairway and take all golf conditions and the sloping fairway into consideration before placing your tee and golf ball into the ground. Check to see if there is any crosswind and what direction it is heading. Also, check to see which direction the fairway or green is sloping. When both are heading in the same direction, you may want to use a certain side of the tee box to your advantage, depending on which way you want the ball to maneuver. This sometimes can be confusing in choosing to aim left, right, or center of the tee box when thinking about your desired placement on the teeing area.

Stepping into the correct position on the tee box not only accounts on whether there is a crosswind and or a sloping fairway and green. You must determine on how high your odds are in hooking, fading or slicing the golf ball, unless you know how to hit the ball straight consistently. Also, is the golf hole straight away, dogleg right or left? You may have to determine the right golf club for distance, especially if the position on the tee box you choose will take you closer to the hazards that golfers seem to forget about or overlook. Teeing areas are not always level. Is the position you choose on the tee box going to place the golf ball higher or lower in your stance? When the golf ball is higher or lower in your stance, it could change the direction you want to aim with not much choice on your part. A golf ball higher in your stance will tend to go left and right if the ball is lower in you stance for right handed hitters.

A good example of positioning yourself in the correct position on the tee box would be a sand trap or a water hazard to the right of you. You may want to choose the right side of the tee box and aim left, if there were a smaller or no hazard in this direction. Just keep in mind, a hazard is a hazard and it is a matter of which hazard will not bring other hazards into play, if you end up in one or the other! Staying away from water on the right and ending up in a sand trap to the left could be a nightmare for some, especially if you have to hit the golf ball back towards the water when the pin is located in this direction.

This may all seem a little confusing to say the least, but with careful thought before teeing up the golf ball, will make a big difference on your next golf shot to the green or pin. Choosing the correct position on the tee box is your only chance in taking advantage of playing the ball with your preferred lie. It is all part of golf course management which will lower your golf handicap and demand self golf discipline, which in turn makes better golf players.

Honest advice on buying off plan in Spain and Bulgaria

Honest advice on buying off plan in Spain and Bulgaria

The Spanish property market is cooling in many areas such as the Costa del Sol so you need to buy sensibly and make sure that you are buying good value properties in areas that have still to see the large capital growth over the coming years. Having just returned from Bulgaria last week, it concerned me just how many people are piling into areas like Sunny Beach which, frankly, look to me massively overdeveloped already. When combined with fairly low build qualities and a fairly downmarket feel, I wonder to whom all these investors (many of whom are buying off plan for the first time) are going to sell to in 18 months or so. This area is going to have a brand new marina and two new golf courses very nearby and traditionally these two factors are excellent for ensuring capital growth and also a healthy supply of end users who want to holiday there in the years to come. This again makes it vitally important to know the financial stability of the developer, if they have only been around for a few months with no track record can you really be sure they will deliver the product you expect?5) Can you sell your contract before completion?Not all developments allow you to do this and obviously of you only find out after buying then you are in for a shock. We often hear of clients who have bought through other agents and then when they come to sell, the contract they signed doesn TMt allow them to do so.ping g25 serie

Golf in 2016 Olympic Games

Golf in 2016 Olympic Games

The full 106-member IOC Session must approve the two finalists when it convenes in Copenhagen in October. If golf overcomes rugby, Tiger Woods' dream that to get an Olympic gold medal will come true.

Both golf and rugby will make a 20-minute presentation before the vote. Golf is proposing a 72-hole stroke-play competition for men and women, with 60 players in each field. Rugby, golf's tough opponent, has proposed a four-day Sevens tournament - rather than the traditional 15-a-side competition_ for 12 men's and women's teams. In addition, golf and rugby are bringing out some of their top stars for the final presentation. star Michelle Wie will arrive in Copenhagen on Wednesday, and Friday's presentation will also include a videotaped message from Tiger Woods and other top pros competing in this week's President's Cup.

Run back over the past, golf was once played at the 1900 Paris Olympics and 1904 St. Louis Games. As a big sport, the Olympics is without doubt the biggest stage in sport in the world, golf is not an exception.

Golf sees the Olympics as a way to spread the game to developing countries and increase its popularity on continents like South America and Africa. However, some IOC members have been unhappy with the selection process for picking the new sports, with the executive board narrowing the list from seven to two at a meeting in Berlin in August. Besides this, great pressure from rugby and also some other sports makes golf still struggling.

Golf is a great physically demanding sport

Golf is a great physically demanding sport

Research shows that amateur golfers use 90% of their peak muscle activity when driving a golf ball. This 90% peak activity equates to an exertion of lifting a maximal weight four times before fatiguing. It is remarkable that golfers have to drive a ball an average of 30-40 times at this level of exertion during a typical 18-round game.

Since the 1960's the average length of golf drives have only increased by six yards. As mentioned earlier, there is no change in the amateur golfers' handicaps over the 20-30 year period. The notable findings however are the elite level where the US Open Championships scores have dropped an average of two strokes every ten years.

Even until recently, few golfers recognized the need for improving their physical conditioning as a component of golf success. Physical conditioning has to be based on a foundation of optimal performance flexibility. Optimal flexibility eliminates the variations to golf mechanics, promotes proper conditioning, reduces the fatigue factor and the breakdown of biomechanics.

What does this indicate to the golfing industry? Amateur golfers have not improved in their game despite all the technological advances; however, elite professionals have improved their scores as well as their strength in driving the ball longer distances. Elite players have benefited from advances in equipment and ball technology and design, which led to their performance improvement. Another reason given for the success of the elite golfers is their improved conditioning and flexibility routines. Science shows that conditioning and flexibility help reduce injuries, balances out weaknesses and minimizes adjustments in the golf swing mechanics.

The key to identifying the cause of back pain and injury are diagnostic tests to be as specific as possible to the cause of the pain as well as to the mechanism of injury. Frequently, health professionals focus on the symptomatic pain and removing this pain quality rather than addressing the underlying cause that precipitated the pain. Unless the cause of the problem is corrected, this problem will extend to other structures adjacent to it.

Assuming no underlying structural damage or disc problem is found, the more successful technique in optimizing recovery and restoring proper mechanics are forms of muscular releases. The most specific to anatomy and biomechanics of myofascial release techniques have been the Mattes Method of Active Isolated Stretch (AIS) and Active Release Technique (Callaway golf). Both of these methods are excellent in providing myofascial functional restoration. Other techniques that are utilized include Rolfing, yoga, massage and neuromuscular massage.

At a professional level at any given time there are as many as 30% of playing golf professionals who are in the tournament participating with low back injuries. Men are slightly more prevalent with back injuries than their female LPGA counterparts. Another interesting statistic reveals that those players who golf and play another sport are 40% more likely to develop back pain when compared to those who only play golf. Once assessments are completed, specific muscle weaknesses and imbalances are identified. Correction of pain is just the first step of treating golf injury whereas proper conditioning and strengthening is as equally important in the prevention of recurrence.

A proper turn and weight shift are essential components

A proper turn and weight shift are essential components of a good swing as well.  Make sure you turn and shift so you feel your weight go to the inside part of your back foot.  If your weight rolls towards the outside of your foot you have moved too much laterally and are probably trying to force your turn incorrectly.

When researching golf swing drills, (there are plenty of videos online) you might well discover golf drills that train the wrists, your primary arm swings, as well as how you should stand and the the placing of your respective feet.

After reading this guide I saw lots of errors I had made in enjoying the game. I had issues in almost each step of golf swing; no wonder I was these a poor player before. Due to this book, now I'm around the road to becoming a actual golfer.

A helpful tip when it comes to golfing is to know when to tell yourself it's time to move on to the next golf hole. It can be aggravating for other players in your group or behind your group if you consistently take too many shots per hole and hold everyone up.

The Simple Golf Swing imparts the idea that it is the perfect touch that counts and not the perfect golf swing to attain great results. It fundamentally follows the law that ‘form follows function' in exploit the desired results in performing golf.

constituent une incitation à inventer;

permettent de reconnaître et de récompenser des inventeurs;

permettent l'investissement en recherche‑développement;

les fabricants d'équipements sportifs tirent un profit financier de l'innovation, ce qui à son tour stimule la force et la vitalité du secteur pour le plus grand bénéfice de l'ensemble de l'économie;

les chercheurs accèdent à une mine d'informations techniques qu'ils peuvent utiliser pour innover et améliorer des produits existants;

les sportifs et les sportives du monde entier profitent des innovations apportées aux équipements sportifs puisque celles‑ci leur permettent d'établir de nouveaux records, de se blesser moins souvent et de se remettre plus rapidement de leurs blessures;
